Antioch

Newport Cove is located in unincorporated Lake County, a few miles south of the Village of Antioch. This quaint town offers excellent restaurants, antique shops, specialty shops, grocery stores and several service businesses. Bordering the town are numerous shopping malls. During the summer months, fairs and festivals abound in the village. The town also hosts several old-fashioned parades – at Christmas, the Fourth of July and other holidays.

Antioch boasts its very own community theater company, the Palette, Masque and Lyre Theater, which has been entertaining Chicago suburban residents for more than 50 years. Another tradition Antioch is widely known for is its Dickens Christmas celebration, when the streets of the town are lined with life-sized figures from the days of Merry Olde England and Tiny Tim.

Newport Cove residents also find convenient shopping in nearby Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Volo and Gurnee.

And, of course, they enjoy boating (or driving) to the many eating and drinking establishments along the Chain O’ Lakes waterfront.
